OUR STORY
Africans Arise Organisation was founded with a deep commitment to empowering and uplifting African communities in Skåne and across Sweden. Recognizing the vibrant tapestry of African cultures and their vital contributions, we saw the need for an organization dedicated to fostering genuine connections, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and actively combating Afrophobia and anti-Black racism.
OUR GUIDING QUESTION IS
How can we ensure the African community feels a profound sense of belonging in Skåne and Sweden?
Our journey began with the realization that a dedicated organization was needed to bridge the gaps between African communities and the wider Swedish society. Driven by a desire to create positive change and empower individuals, we set out to build an organization that would serve as a conduit for support, resources, and advocacy.
From the outset, we understood that true empowerment comes from within. Therefore, we focused on providing access to valuable resources that equip individuals and families to thrive. These include skills development workshops, cultural exchange programs, community dialogues, and advocacy/policy work.

We also recognized the importance of fostering genuine connections and building bridges between communities. Through cultural events and community gatherings, we create spaces for intercultural exchange, understanding, and collaboration. By celebrating the rich diversity of African cultures and sharing experiences, we aim to break down stereotypes and build a more inclusive society.
Furthermore, we are committed to addressing the systemic issues of Afrophobia and anti-Black racism. Through awareness campaigns, advocacy, and educational programs, we can challenge discrimination, promote equality, and strive for a more just and equitable society.
AFRICANS ARISE IS MORE THAN AN ORGANIZATION
It's a movement—a testament to the resilience, strength, and vibrant spirit of African communities in Sweden. We invite you to join us as we work together to build a stronger Sweden for all.
